A suggestion to call for a big global meditation
A series of emails discussing this proposal from October 11 to 19, 1998
From: globalvisionary@cybernaute.com (Jean Hudon)
Subject: Feedbacks to A suggestion to call for a big global meditation
Dear friends and members of the Consciousness Coalition
A couple of days ago, hearing about the imminent NATO air strike in Serbia (now cancelled),
about U.S. Defense Secretary Cohen touring the Gulf countries on some unspecified
agenda (possibly to prepare for another military intervention in Irak because of
the potential nukes there) and also about the alleged cancellation of all leaves for
all Canadian military personnel starting in December, I felt compelled to ask to
a selected group of people on my list what they thought about the possibility of
organizing a massive pre-emptive Peace meditation to try to positively influence the outcome
of those potential world events. Here was my introductory statement to this suggestion:
"Dear World Peacemakers
We succeeded last time - with the help of Kofi Annan and James Twyman and everyone's
meditation and prayers for Peace - to defuse the last crisis in Irak. I think another
chance to rise up to the challenge will be coming very shortly and this time it could be on such a short notice that it might be better to begin planning for a pre-emptive
Peace Shield meditation before things get out of hand -- see my response to Jeff
below for a better understanding of what I feel *could* be at stake here (not included
here but already summarized above). If enough people respond positively to this suggestion
and we make it a common decision, then we will circulate it widely through the Consciousness
Coalition and our respective networks.
But I need to hear from you all first...
(end of quote)
So I've received some interesting responses (all included below) from a number of
people. I would now like to extend the examination of this suggestion and the responses
received to the entire list, and so I share this whole subject with you all hoping
to hear some additional comments on this possibility of scheduling a *special* Global
Peace Meditation to bolster the positive and peaceful side of our collective consciousness
in order to facilitate the taking of the most benevolent path for our future common evolution. Or alternatively, instead of trying to agree on some specific time, we
might simply decide to use all existing meditations scheduled on a daily, weekly
and monthly basis to put a major focus of attention on this and/or renew our commitment
to *personally* participate as often as possible to this common spiritual work whenever
it is appropriate for us.
I feel this is something which is within our collective grasp but it has to come from
a collective will, and not just the inner promptings of some individuals however
*inspired* they may be. This would make a whole lot of difference!
I think what it all comes down is using the opportunity presented to us now to gradually
take *charge* -- becoming responsible -- of our unfolding destiny instead of leaving
the flow of history be determined solely by the imperatives and agendas of any elite and/or military group and/or state government operatives. It is also about taking
a pro-active and conscious role in shaping the future of this world instead of merely
*reacting* to pre-set outer events.
And if there is anyone still doubting the real power of consciously attuned human
souls for a positive end after the numerous global mind links and spiritual rendez-vous
we have had over the last 2 decades, including the World Healing Meditation in December 1986, Harmonic Convergence in August 87 and numerous other such spiritual events,
then there is not much that can be done to convince those people, except to invite
them to keep an open mind and open heart and give it a fair try once again.

Hello Jean
Re: peace meditations and Kosovo
In principle I agree with what your correspondents say about the importance of social
and spiritual peacebuilding and the risk of damage in Kosovo from military intervention,
and the success and value of meditations earlier this year on Iraq. The suspicions voiced about the shady motivations of the military-industrial complex are partially
correct, in my view, though not wholly so. I have a reservation about the statement
that military intervention is 'bad' and meditation is 'good', and I think a few blanket statements are being made which need re-evaluating.
It's indeed true and demonstrated (at least within our community of believers) that
a dangerous situation in and around Iraq was successfully headed off by the use of
meditation earlier this year. Yet the problem around Iraq is still not resolved,
and in this the outcomes of the meditation might be in question: there are still deadly nukes
and biological weapons in Iraq, and these can still be used in a variety of contexts
(watch out for Iran and Turkey), and the West has not learned its own lesson from
all this either. From my own inner meditative-psychic researches I've discovered that
Saddam Hussein is not such a bad guy as he is commonly demonised to be, yet he's
also not the world's wisest man either - and he can still play havoc with millions
of people. So, with regard to the current problem, Kosovo/Serbia, the focus perhaps needs to
be on sorting out the problems on both or all sides of the equation, and not just
using the occasion to click into default protester mode or rigid new age peace-ideology,
and just to rail at capitalists, military men and media types - that's just one side
of the equation! The fact is, the Serbs are committing crimes against humanity, and
there's some serious malignancy going on.
The material you sent out from Jan Oberg in Sweden (entitled "Human Rights and Peace
Forums in Conflict Areas" from Transnational Foundation TFF <tff@transnational.org>)
is valuable, important and valid, and I agree with it and work with this stuff myself. However, I'd suggest we're talking about different things here, and distinctions
need making. This is like the difference between complementary therapies and invasive
surgery/heavy pharmaceutical treatment. The former is preferable to the latter, since
it addresses the fundamentals more properly and brings more fullsome healing. However,
the latter is valuable when it is too late to apply the former - sometimes, if a
cancer has gone critical, surgery, radiation and chemicals are the only known solution.
The same goes for social peacebuilding versus military intervention. With military
intervention, as with surgery, the diagnosis needs to be good, and the work done
excellent and appropriate, and sometimes, in an emergency, you have to just act on
the knowledge and skills you have, without knowing if it's the best option in retrospect -
because disaster is, at the time, the only other perceptible option. The lesson to
be drawn from this is that full complementary therapy needs applying from the first
moment the symptoms arise, not when they've gone super-acute and deadly - and the big fault
of the international community is that it has avoided the issues up to now and thus
allowed military intervention to become almost inevitable. However, since we're in
the situation we're now in, my reservation is that meditative action, especially action
which perhaps *rigidly* is visualising peace *at any cost*, might not be the sole
or best option. I would remind people that, aside from bombing, armies are good in
humanitarian work because they're trained to achieve results and overcome obstacles - and
even if no shots are fired in Kosovo, and even if the Serbs pull back and drop their
case, there's a lot of emergency work to do there, and imminent deaths are likely
without bombing happening.
So please watch your judgements, people! Don't project your peace-preferences on a
situation in a way which might itself be one-sided or even narrow! Peace-work is
important and right, but we needed to think about this at an earlier stage, when
such healing was perhaps more valid than it now is, at the last minute. To me, it's not a question
of military intervention or no military intervention: it's a question of the skill
and motivation with which it's done. Perhaps it's better to put spiritual support
into the right use of intervention, instead of belatedly complicating things. Perhaps
it's also worth getting a prejudice out of the way: who's to say that military action
is *always* bad? And who has a really acceptable, demonstratedly-effective substitute?
I see few hands shooting up with good answers to this.
We have to remember another matter. There's one thing, which is the confusions society
gets itself into - fear, distrust, polarisation and so on. There's another too, which
is that a small number of serious assholes still have a big effect in the world.
Because we humans are all trained to default to negative (fear) than to positive, it
just takes one Milosevic to stand up and activate terrible negativity amongst people
who, in themselves, are basically okay people. Yes, most Serbs are fine folks. This
doesn't happen on the positive side: if one person stands up and spouts wisdom, everyone
says "Very well and good, but....".
I do a lot of remote-viewing meditation work, and I've visited many world leaders
in this way. From this, one thing I can say about Saddam Hussein is that he has his
faults, but as a soul he seems to be an interesting guy with a valid point to make,
and a good-hearted side to him as well as a lot of paranoia, pain and dangerous motives
(mostly unconscious). However, Slobodan Milosevic, in my experience, is an empty
soul. He has *nothing inside him* except a heart of glass - in my judgement and experience,
from the inner researches I've made. This man is a skilled manipulator who is likely
to seek to twist the world round his finger by any means. He's the sort of man who
can guarantee his own safety only by staying in power. This makes him very dangerous,
a suitable channel for serious badness. In my experience, he has *no feelings at all*
- not even hate. He seems to have but cold calculation going on within. If anyone
has a different perception, I'd be intrested to hear it! I'd like to feel compassion
and understanding even toward Milosevic.
In this context, though love and light might be of some therapeutic value, I have
serious doubts in the value of resorting to blanket pacifist statements and ideals,
or in believing that a wacky link-up of good-intentioned souls would really solve
the problem. In my judgement, spiritually or militarily, this guy probably needs 'taking out'
with incisive precision, because of the disastrous effect he has on other humans.
He has the power to bring out the very worst in both Serbs and their victims. In
this context, form your own conclusions, though I suggest that, if the love'n'light brigade
really want peace, some focused, intense, directed, carefully-conceived innerwork
is needed to neutralise this guy, and divine love-soup, good intentions and peace-ideology *aren't it*.
I would add this. If you want to take a simple love-and-light approach, do start becoming
aware of issues at an earlier stage, and do something about it at the appropriate
time, not when it's already too late! This is not just a matter of stopping gunfire
and murder - it's a matter of fundamental peacebuilding and historical problem-solving,
from bottom-up. So, may I suggest that we use this opportunity to scan the world
for problems-in-the-making (of which there are many), and that we get more into the
habit of working on them *before* they become 'sexy' news-items and painful disasters
for ordinary people?! This involves getting into deliberate, ongoing world-healing
work, and bypassing the Wow-factor of big dramatic last-minute big-numbers meditations,
promoted by highly-regarded new age stars. Short-termism is part of the problem, not
part of the solution! This involves getting into the boring stuff - the healing work
we need to do even when we're uninterested, even when no one is clapping, even when
everyone else is in avoidance and denial. It involves working on fundamentals for decades.
Until the Big Job - planet Earth itself, and its global and historical and cosmic
fundamentals - is fixed. Which I would estimate to be a long-haul task with many
intricacies to it.
So, go for it with the meditations, and do your best. However, Bosnia/Kosovo, a decade-long
issue, has arisen because everyone turned the other way and hoped it would all disappear.
There's a lesson to be drawn from this. And while politicians and miliary men are getting it all demonstrably wrong in Kosovo, this doesn't mean they should
down tools, go home and leave it to prayer. The whole of the Muslim world has been
praying for Bosnia and Kosovo for a long time, and while it's good that post-Christian
new agers are now at last getting on the case, something more is needed!
Some of the British military people come from my area (SW England). A few of them
are my astrological clients and local acquaintances. One of them has given me lovely,
inspiring rides in a hot-air balloon, for free! They love their families and care
about humanity. They've been in Bosnia, Ulster and Kurdistan. They're basically good, sincere
guys, who believe they're doing the right thing - though they too get frustrated
with the management of the army and with politicians. Don't automatically oppose
these guys! Pray for everyone, on all sides, to see truth and wisdom, even if it's hard,
and to realise and learn from the consequences of their/our actions. If military
intervention happens, watch out that you don't exacerbate problems by introducing
complexity of agendas: pitch your prayers and light-energy well, non-judgmentally. Who's to
say we are right? I don't think 'God' uses such judgements - if 'he' did, planet
Earth would have been wiped clean of humans ages ago! May the Kosovo experience become
a deep lesson for the world, and may those *on all sides* who have sacrificed their lives
in order to teach us be blessed with the joy of seeing that sacrifice leading to
genuinely, fundamentally wholesome outcomes.
Wishing well

I get confused with So Many Meditations going on out there, each with a slightly different
focus. We do the best we can.
Has the time come to get it all together and agree to meditate at the same times?
Then we can have an e-mail forum for content so that folk can suggest a theme to
be included in any one of the regular meditations. That way if I go off air, or forget
to look, I'll know anyway at least when to be present - and can mark up my diary for the
next year.
It also takes "urgent" out of our vocabulary - yes there are major events going on
from time to time asking for our love, but only those caught in the fear of them
need change their pace.
I like the following:
- one every day at noon wherever you are - one every Sunday - timed so we're all synchronised
- one every first day of the month - noon wherever you are, and - very special astrological
events, maybe four times a year max.
A regular, rolling wave of clear, reliable love every day, with an extra strong one
each week with everyone coming together at the same time. Then one a month initiating
a theme for that month which will be carried throughout that month. Thus we start
entraining the healing, so there won't be much space left for the panic. The astrological
specials are to take advantage of natural phenomena to obtain maximum leverage for
our human efforts.

Subject: Global Meditations: The Wheels
are rolling...Why Reinvent it?
Dear Jean and friends,
As part of the ERN platform, you're aware of the LightShift 2000 Project which has
been focusing global meditations on the first day of each and every month at Noon
for several years, building to quantum events on January 1, 2000 and January 1, 2001.
Approximately a million people around the world are participating in these meditations.
This is based on the concept of continually and consistently building expanding resonance
in the unified field of consciousness. Also, since the first of each month at Noon doesn't require special email announcements to organize and synchronize, it reaches
people both on and off the internet.
The growth of this project has been the result of thousands of hours of work, lots
of money, scores of full page, full color advertisements, full color flyers, hundreds
of editorials, a beautiful 300 page website, http://www.lightshift.com
a brilliant book by Ken Kalb, interviews, and the hard work and networking efforts
of many wonderful people.
Why we don't all join our synergistic hands in this effort which has been growing
for years. Why reinvent the wheel? Why not combine and boost our synergistic efforts
to a divinely inspired project which is rolling full steam ahead?
The LightShift materials have been translated into several languages, and are in the
process of translation into several more. By 1999, we expect the materials to be
translated into most major languages. Anyone who wishes to assist, please contact
us.
Jean, perhaps you would like to translate the simple color flyer into French. If so,
please contact Edwin Zimmerli at:
holo@active.ch (HoloEnergetic)
Edwin has been coordinating the European LightShift effort and set up the German website.
He has been coordinating several translations. I'm not sure what his progress is
on the French.
Your feedback is appreciated.

Yes Jean, I believe in miracles too and I know how group meditations can help even
on a small scale so on a large scale the effects are bound to be so much stronger.
Last year when things were very hot here in Cyprus a small group of us meditated
every evening for five days and then everything calmed down and dispersed.
It has been in my thoughts that we when we get back from Israel to organize a large
meditation for Cyprus. They are thinking of bringing in Russian missiles next month
and Turkey says if they do they will attack. There is a lot of tension around this
here right now and the amazing thing is that most Cypriots think it is a good idea and
that it will make them feel safe.
The more we link up together, the stronger we all become, so yes to any large group
meditations. Love and light, Maggie

Interesting; interesting, too, that this is quietly taking place while American television
holds our attention on questions of impeachment.
According to the Dreamspell/Mayan calendar folks, we (Earth) are now on the way back
toward the Photon Band, having moved out of it a few months ago, and only recently
having moved in our orbit to being as far away from the Band as we'll ever be again.
Interesting timing: We'll re-enter the Photon Band, and our Sun will begin to enter
it, too, for the first time in a very long time, on December 25.
What this may or may not mean, I have no idea, really, but I've found that the events
depicted in the Mayan Sacred Tzolk'in, and events in daily living, really do seem
to have something in common, so I have some expectation that 25-Dec-98 might do something special.
The media recently half-heartedly informed us that some enormous energy event had
been observed in space, that sent a vast wave of particular energies in our direction.
The question arises, "Where did that energy go?" Joe Arguelles answers, "Into the
poles of the Earth; it's stored inside our planet, right now." -That's- interesting. <g>
Next question: What becomes of that 'stored' energy when we re-enter the Photon Band...?
Again, I have no idea -- but it's apparent there are other, larger things afoot than
the surface-of-the-planet machinations of human beings.
Therefore let us remain aware of these larger patterns within which we live, move,
and have our being. From that larger awareness, the occurrences in the affairs of
human beings in the world take on a smaller, more easily encompassed proportion in
our thoughts. We don't need to fixate on defusing any one thing so much as we need to "be
strong, and of a good courage" and remain aligned with Life itself, together.
Life is inevitable. And peace may break out at any moment.

Greetings, Jean and other Peaceworkers. Indeed, we must intensify meditation and other
Light activities. We are holding a prayer for world peace with pre-schoolers then
planting a Peace Pole on the 29th of October, to celebrate the "return of the Light"
as traditionally celebrated in India as Diipavali.
We will also be holding a 2-week intensive meditative gathering for peace and the
anchoring of "new" Lightwaves. We are a group aware of the the intense oppositions
to the inevitable coming in of the Era of Peace. Please join us in spirit on the
23rd of October to the 6th of November.
Please join us too at our annual Peace Meditation and World Peace Prayer Ceremony
on the 21st of December.
The venues will be given to those interested through fax or snail mail. Already, an
embassy has told one in the group that "his country does not welcome visitors who
go there for meditation". Whether this is a single bureaucrat's or a national leadership's policy (probably blurted out in a moment of indiscretion) is beside the point. We
go and meditate wherever our hearts lead us to in the cosmos.
LET GOODWILL BE AMONG ALL BEINGS.

Right, let's do it! There have been SO many Peace Meditation calls in the last year
or so - and I'm SURE they help the Earth's geomagnetic stability, which determines
how ideas and intentions actually manifest on the physical plane.
In a magnetically harmonious field, nothing nasty or violent can occur. I suggest
we pick a day each month for this convergence of conscious intentions. Say, 11/11
and 12/12 for a start? We could work on a spectrum of images: neutralizing cruelty,
transmuting fear, generating universal love, and total immersion in the light of essential
knowing. This is the minimum we can do - apart from anchoring within our core selves
the unshakeable feeling that all is unfolding perfectly in the One Heart and the
One Mind.

As you may know, the peace process in the Middle East after long time of faltering
demonstrates light signs of revive. There are new sparkles of hope in the end of
the tunnel. After a long time of estrangement, the leaders of the region are ready
to come together in order to find an optimal solution. They agreed to meet each other, is it
acknowledgement or I don't know what. This time it must be completed successfully.
If it fails, it will have broad implications - not only for our region - but also
for the whole world. Miracles do happen and it is for us to create them! For this reason,
by the time the leaders will negotiate in the Why Plantation, a group of LightWorkers
Palestinians, Israelis, Jordanians Americans and from Cyprus will come together to
Israel for the first LightLink to the Mid-East on 21-25 of October.
Michael Lightweaver the LightLink initiator and other participators feel that we can
use all the help we can get in that crucial time. The aim is to encourage the political
leaders of our region to move beyond their fears, egos and narrow interests, and
touching into the essence of the Divine Presence Within - making decisions which are
to the highest good of all concerned. We also wish to strengthen the citizens of
the region to trust and accept the fact that we all one, we share the same breath,
we are one. We want to defeat fear, to avoid violence. Our desire is to evoke the love within
each and any of the people in this tortured district and to bring back hope to the
hearts. Therefore we wish to invite your participation which is so urgently needed
at this point.
We invite you to visualize a beautiful column of white light coming down into the
center of Jerusalem and flowing out like a rainbow of peace, justice, love and goodwill,
bathing our region in light and flowing to all points of the planet. Please be with
us during the dates October 21-25, at 07:00 PM your time for at least 10 minutes. During
these total 120 hours, together we create a solid energetic continual wave to hover
all around this Sacred Planet. If you cannot participate precisely at the required
time, please hold this visual image and thoughts of peace and goodwill for our region
throughout the day. Your support and participation with us at this crucial time is
deeply appreciated.

from Michael Lightweaver on the first Mideast Light Link network gathering (SEE AT
THE END OF THIS POST)
Dear friends, peacemakers, lightworkers, Coalition members, and brothers and sisters
from around the world
I have been receiving again many more comments and complementary ideas on the current
topic under discussion and consideration. And again I would like to sincerely thank
everyone of those who shared a piece of their heart and their invaluable insights
with us all through this conduit I'm providing.
The recurring theme could be summed up with the words "Persistence, Dedication and
Unconditional Peace and Love for All" with regard to our role as invisible peacemakers,
humble contributors to the global spiritual "soulsphere" of peace and love-sustaining energies, as well as dedicated servers of the One Universal Life and Immanent Presence.
We came here to actively assist in the birth of a New World and thus we *do* assist.
And as far as the suggestion of calling for a big global meditation, I think this
call has already been heeded by the recipients on this list and by many more who
simply take their cues from their inner spiritual guidance. If we all remain minimally
informed and aware of ongoing world events and tense hot spot situations, our inner Call
will resonate and we will "know" it is time to renew our dedicated and unrelenting
effort to counterbalance whatever inertia opposing change there may be, and victoriously
shine the Light of compassionate love and peaceful understanding that radiates from
the deep well of Pure Divine Consciousness we can all access in deep meditation.
It's as simple as that.
And so the idea of a "Big Global Meditation" has/will in fact be-come an ongoing wave
of pristine positive Life Forces rolling around the world and radiating through each
of our cells on a daily and minute-by-minute basis, a groundswell of Love punctuated
by regular high points rendez-vous on the earthly calendar, in tune with the Earth
changes and with the evolving needs of humanity.
So with these few thoughts from "within" I'll let you know consider the following
various perspectives and let you make your own conclusions on this subject.
And thank you, all of you, for your persistence to be on this list, patience to read
through so much material and collaboration in this common global effort for peace
and a better world for all.
May Peace Prevail on Earth

Hye,
A few points that might be useful.
1. In this kind of work there can be:
a. an ongoing daily bass rhythm practised by people with a daily meditation/prayer
practice.
b. events that capture the public imagination and harness a mass inner event.
2. Searching for a regular rhythm for this kind of inner work (people
trying to fix dates), there is no point in re-inventing the wheel. The
rhythm is already there, belongs to nature and has been used by humanity
for millennia and longer. This is the Full Moon rhythm.
Why Full Moon?
a. It's globally noticed without need of watches and calendars.
b. As it effects the tides and circadian rhythms, its effect on the etheric
body and brain fluids makes inner work much easier.
c. It is a groove that is already there.
d. Many many people already use it.
(I produced this in cartoon form for one of my books 'Meditation in a
Changing World.)
It can be punctuated by the Solstices. In this way, Gaia's dynamics are
enlisted.
3. It would help if people learnt the basic energy work, eg:
a. Always stay centred and calm, and in compassionate love - otherwise
personality energy interferes.
b. Never do this work earnestly. Earnest vibrations intensify conflict.
c. Be able to envision a perfect healing for the communal wound, in the
same way a healer does for an individual.
d. Successful inner work may not manifest in cessation of conflict,
especially where liberation is part of the dynamic. (Individuals can heal,
but nevertheless they have to release their form and die. This is a paradox
of life that needs accepting.)
I hope that these comments serve the process. I want to introduce people to
an ongoing self-disciplined rhythm - but at the same time have very
accessible and open gateways for crises.

Dear Jean,
This topic has actually been on my mind quite a bit. And discussed as well...
Yes, I do think we should do this. I do think that we ought organize into a more continual
force with less stress on the "hot topics" as well, but those situations do need
loving healing energy directed to them. Diffusing a tense situation is vital lest
it erupt and cause further anguish. There is no denial from anyone that we also all
need to direct more energy to the underlying causes of the situations.
I have heard so many comments about the divisiveness of lightwork lately. There can't
really be too many meditative moments organized. All of our energy is ultimately
headed to the same place. Home and heart. And there cannot be too much love at Home.
I even had a brother tell me it was pointless to participate. That it was attempting
to force another being to attain enlightenment beyond their chosen rate! Which I
disagree with. But he has his right to his own viewpoint. And I to mine. Which is
that LOVE does not force. Love gives us security and stability to be and to blossom. Love if
purely given without
expectation as to how it heals cannot harm. None of us knows when we send our love
/ energy out to this world in what forms it's healing work will be manifested. But
we know from our own most immediate lives the truth of it's work. The truth of the
transformations it sustains.
So yes, dear brother. Let us by all means continue to come together and often.
With Love and Laughter,
Namaste!

Subject: Comments on Global Meditation
Dear Jean:
After reading all the comments you received on the ins and outs of
Global Meditation I wanted to reply.
I believe the power of a Global Meditation lies simply within the
individual's intent to participate in focusing on Peace/Love as a group.
Then we must understand that our finite minds are not able to see the bigger
picture, so we have no way of knowing the best means to bring about this
Peace; for so often it is out of chaos that Peace is born.
Our job then, is to continue focusing on the ultimate outcome of Peace,
and leave the mechanics/specifics of achieving it to our Higher Power, or
whatever we choose to call Him/Her. This way many arguments/disagreements
are avoided and thus our focus on Peace can remain filled with clarity.
I very much liked the schedule for when to meditate or pray that Jeremy
of Cape Town put forth.
Thanks for listening.
With much Love and Light,
Anne

Dear Jean,
I have been reading through all the feedback on the idea of a
"preemtive" meditation for peace. The gist of the conversations puts me in
mind of the healing work I do. I teach energetic healing. I tell my
students that there is no need to make a diagnosis ( in this case decide
whether the world leader is "good" or "bad") . Our job is not to understand
every part of the dynamic of illness.(or world politics). Rather, our role
is to stand as strongly as we can grounded in Light and to offer that
template to the client with the intention of the highest good for the
situation. We allow the light to flow through us and the client has an
intrinsic urge toward wholeness and receives what they need whether we
understand every aspect or not. We facilitate healing but know that All
that IS understands the overall plan and has the final say.
This also applies to world peace from my point of view. I know this is an
elementary concept to many of us, but felt it needed to be added to the
discussion.

Maria Arrington

Just last night I did my global meditation. I oftentimes, and more recently do my
meditations including peace, health, love and light, first starting with myself,
moving outward to my family and friends, finanally to the globe.
I visualize the earth (from space) being covered with a white light. Last night,
though, I went inside the earth and brought healing from the inside out, remembering
that the earth, too, is a living creature. Yes, I can participate in these meditations,
in a sense, I am already.
Love and light,

Hello, Jean, and thanks as always for circulating so much insightful material.
Since you've mentioned that another of your messages will cover the subject
of Global Meditations that have been proposed recently, I'm sending a copy
of my message to Ken Kalb and Antares about this:
I'm absolutely in resonance with the idea you've proposed of designating
one day a month--at least for the next few months, until Spring 1999--for
global meditations, ceremonies and other events designed to help align the
Earth and her people with higher spiritual frequencies.
I'll be happy to put any additional information you may send about any
11/11 and 12/12 plans or events in the next Universal Festival Calendar,
for November '98 through January '99. One of the Calendar's goals all along
has been to simplify global meditation plans by aligning them with events
in Heaven and Earth.
The dates you propose, and others that may be inferred, are auspicious for the
events we have in mind because:
11/11 is a traditional warrior holiday in several cultures, and is thus the
perfect day for the counterintention of a peace festival.
12/12 is in the days of the festivals of light preceding the winter
solstice. It is also the date on which Mercury goes direct after its
retrograde period of 11/22 - 12/12
1/1/2000 is obvious
2/2/2000 falls right in the period of the midwinter festivals which
throughout the world have been celebrated as the time when the Sun
re-emerges from the death and darkness of Winter into the coming Spring,
and is thus emblematic everywhere of renewal and resurrection.
And so on. This alignment of dates works well throughout 1999. And holding
the Peace Festival and World Peace Prayer on Dec. 21 of this year aligns
this event with the natural power of the winter solstice.
Great ideas. Kudos.
Aloha,
Dan Furst

I was wondering - instead of focusing on one crisis after another would
it be a good idea to have an on-going world meditation- perhaps once a
week or once a month to focus on healing the world.
I feel the energy needs healing. Until that happens the impending
disasters will loom larger and larger. It has worked on individual
events why not on the world as a whole??

Dear Jean,
Recently was a world peace assembly of the most of representants of
religious people in Bucharest, Romania. Romania took the responsability
to reconcile between the representants of different beliefs. They made a
collective praying for peace. I think, that meditation has a greater
effect if is done together in one place by many people. As scientifical
research have shown, TM and TM-Sidhi program, practiced in large groups
has a tremendous harmonizing effect at all levels of society.

Hi Jean!
I think we need to find an online time zone chart so everyone can
determine their time zone so we can project peace at the same time each
day. There's little point to "meditating at noon, wherever you are.."
because it defeats the purpose of meditating together. Every day,
synchronized, works well for me.
Blessings, and talk soon,
Jo

Hi Jean,
Thank you for your newsletters and all of the feedback material. Palden's letter
certainly gave me food for thought and a view that is so appropriate to this country
as well. I was in the army and my husband still serves for at least a month each
year, so I can attest that most soldiers, however they are being portrayed in the
media, are lovely, human beings inside and with their families and within their communities.
Each is mourned by the country, as a whole.
For about 10 years I have belonged to a meditation group in Israel which is led by
Menorah Charney, a wonderful channel. In the messages which were received, and which
have been published quarterly by the group, we were informed of assistance from other
spheres, when we request it, in order to defuse potentially difficult reactions to the
influx of the energies. These energies (re:photon belt) have become stronger and
swifter in the past 10 years, if not 20-something, when the group was actually founded.
One of the recommendations was building a wall of Light around an area, which, to
me, would assist in downstepping the energy to a more acceptable level and keep out
negative thoughts (though this negative/positive issue is starting to blur around
the edges for me) and strengthen those within.
Another recommendation was to see all weapons of destruction turning into a less
harmful substance, such as sugar (which, if taken with moderation is probably less
harmful than aspartame!). What can I say, worked for us!!! (We meditated every two
hours, in groups or alone during the Gulf war and though we don't take credit, it
sure felt like there were miracles abounding!)
There are many groups which organize global meditations throughout the
year...Solstice meetings, marine meditations on the equinoxes, Full moon meditations
(Wesak, Goodwill etc). Let us continue this work which unites us all in soul and
mind and which radiates light, love and peace from our beings, over the airways and
to the universal whole.

Dear Jean, It seems like there is a consensus for us to coordinate with
all the other groups and meditate for peace structured in a way that flows
for all of us. Good data! Let's do it.
We have good news here concerning the whale meditation project. Today's
Seattle P.I. had a front page article w/ photographs saying that The Makah
Indians are going to have to postpone their whale hunt. The Dept. of
Fisheries won't allow them to hunt the native resident whales of Neah
Bay--they are only permitted to hunt migrating grays on their way South to
Baja. The migrating whales usually come through in Nov. & the Makahs must
hunt them at least 10 miles out in the Pacific.
The Pascific waters can be very stormy and treacherous in Nov. They could
be forced by the weather to wait until the spring to hunt the migrating
whales.
Our prayers for the safety and security of the Neah Bay whales are being
heard. Now we need to meditate and pray for the migrating whales as well.
Thanks for your valuable info.sharing.

Lelia

Subject: Goodwill as the natural creator of peace and harmony
I received a forward of your message and information on global meditation,
etc. I've always been highly skeptical of any attempt to "send" energy,
whether as light or "peace" since energy thus sent is apprehended and used to
expand or exacerbate the life qualities being expressed by any given
individual or group. So energy sent to, say, Slobadan Milosevic or Sadam
Hussein or the Ayatollah Khomeni, or a rapist or arms manufacturer - you get
the idea - will be used to satisfy his or her personality desires, most of
them destructive and far from the ideals of any pacifist. I'm of the opinion
that the meditations we've been given, and especially the Great Invocation,
when used in focussed intent, invoke the Hierarchy and the New Group of World
Servers to the extent needed to combat the negative effects. But for human
beings to "send" energy willy-nilly, given our beglamoured and illusioned
states, is, to me, dangerous and foolhardy.
In the Externalisation of the Hierarchy, page 234, we read, "Peace, when it
comes, will be the result of right world conditions and right human
relationships. It is an effect and not a cause; it is the effect of certain
subjective attitudes which are not yet present in the world on a sufficiently
wide scale."
It seems to me, then, that the expression of goodwill and right human
relations will gradually and appropriately bring about the conditions needed
for us to effect peace, which will be the natural outcome of our movement
toward brotherhood.

Hi Jean,
It seems to me that each person should meditate or pray in their own way. I
do not believe that we all must do the same thing, at the same time.
Intention is everything!
One Invocation that I have found most helpful is the "Divine Light
Invocation" given by Mahamuni Babaji to Swami Sivananda Radha and others.
It can be said for oneself or as many, worldwide, as one wishes: for the
entire planet, universe............
"I/we are Created By Divine Light
I/we are Sustained By Divine Light
I/we are Protected by Divine Light
I/we are Surrounded by Divine Light
I/we are One with Divine Light......................... (this last line
was added by me:-))

Subject: Letter from Michael Lightweaver
Hi,
This is Michael Lightweaver with Network 2012. Tomorrow (Sunday, Oct. 18th)
I leave the USA to attend and facilitate the first Mideast Light Link network
gathering which will be held from Oct. 21-25 at an intentional Jewish/Arab
peace village in Israel called Neve Shalom / Al Wat Salam (Oasis of Peace).
The purpose of this gathering is for Lightworkers from the region to meet
one another and to explore ways to promote cooperation and communication on
behalf of positive planetary transformation. Currently we have about 40
participants registered including six Americans, two Cypriots, two Jordanians,
about seventeen Israelis and a dozen or so Palestinians.
As you probably know, the situation in the Mideast continues to be very
fragile as well as complex. It seems that it is a constant teetering between
hope and despair. The old stratagies for solving problems continue to be used
by both sides - and continue to fail to produce what everyone seeks: Freedom &
Justice for the Palestinians; Security for the Israelis; and Peace &
Prosperity for all.
My Guidance is that this gathering - however humble - holds the potential
for creating a historic turning point, not only for the region, but because of
its location near Jerusalem - for the planet as a whole. It holds the
potential for bringing us to a turning point that can send us in a new
direction with a vision of the future which is no longer held prisoner to the
past.
The critical ingredient which can determine whether or not we can shift the
energy is You. Yes, You! If you can take a few minutes each day between
Oct. 21-25th and send forth a prayer or visualize a beam of Light with Love
coming into the heart of Jerusalem, you can help shift this energy. I would
invite you to see this beam of Light unlocking the prison of history which
still binds most people to the past and blinds them with anger and fear to the
potential of a peaceful and positive future.
I don't have the answers nor do I pretend to. However I know that what is
currently being done isn't working, primarily because it is based on fear,
frustration and anger on both sides. "Solutions" based on this can only be
temporary at best and are usually based on violence at some level whether it
be personal, social, institutional or political.
However, I am convinced that when we move beyond our fear, anger and
frustration into that higher part of ourselves which is in alignment with
Divine Presence, there are righteous solutions which can address everyones
desire for Justice, Freedom, Security and Prosperity - without which there can
be no Peace.
Will you help us hold this vision as we gather October 21-25th? If you
would like a specific time to focus, you may do so a 7pm local time each day
for ten minutes. By doing this together we can create and send a solid and
continual energetic wave of Love & Healing to the land of Jerusalem.
A new day is dawning on the Earth. That's a given. Our focused intent can
determine whether it will be a bright radiant morning or a stormy sunless
dawning. Let us chose the former! Let this be our Day Of Grace!
With Love & Blessings,
Michael Lightweaver
