Dear Jean,
I was amazed to read my email about Qumran which I had sent you a long
time ago and it really got me thinking about why it came up now, very
interesting and no coincidence of course. I did go a second time and was
then led from there onwards on my spiritual journey, to Mount Sinai,
then to Tibet, to Morocco and am told next trip Iran.
Light and love and blessings for the New Year and thank you for the
wonderful work you do. Maggie
Also something else I would like to share with you. I remember about a
year ago when you had expressed some disappointment at the lack of
response from people and then it changed after you put it out. I have
just experienced the same. As you know I have been working with ACIM on
line. I asked for feedback just before Christmas and if people would
like to continue. I received only 5 replies out of approx 2000. So I put
this out and said I would no longer do ACIM as obviously people are no
longer interested and now suddenly hundreds of emails are pouring in.
As lightworkers, so often we don't know what we are doing, we may feel
as if we are working alone but in reality I believe we are doing much
more than we realise but yes we are human too and do need to be
appreciated too sometimes.
Peace and blessings,
Maggie
THANKS FOR YOUR FEEDBACK MAGGIE. INDEED WE ALL NEED FROM TIME TO TIME TO BE REASSURED THAT OUR SERVICE, WHATEVER IT IS, IS SOMEHOW USEFUL TO OTHERS. IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED TO RECEIVE MAGGIE'S POST OF MATERIAL TAKEN FROM THE "COURSE IN MIRACLES" SIMPLY ASK HER TO BE ADDED ON HER E-LIST.

Subject: Oil situation
Good luck with your book Jean.
Any news from "DD" who seemed so positive and so well-informed on the oil
situation, and was talking about a 60% reduction in supply (compared with 7%
during the famous 87 crisis) This seemed to me to be significant,
and if it's going to work through we should be prepared. DD ought to know
something by now - if she's really "for real"!
Mike
AND MY RESPONSE WAS:
Hello Mike
I wrote to Art Rosenblum <artr@juno.com> who forwarded this DD material and asked him:
"Please also let me know if you hear anything about all those oil refineries that were supposed to be closed down or wrecked by the Y2K bug - according to your friend and DD. Was all this info only false rumors or what?
As you know I've networked this info you sent me to my entire list and if nothing happens at all after all these dire warnings, I think some explanations would be in order - and I'll sure pass them on if they sound plausible."
AND HE RESPONDED:
Oil refineries apparently did not close down as DD predicted. Pipelines did, but only for a few hours over the roll over and then I guess started up O.K. However, there is still not total openness about problems that did occur, but then they were not so bad that we have to worry a lot.
What can I say to your network? Only that it was better to be safe than sorry.
(end of quote)
So that's what I know so far. I'll keep everyone posted if there is any significant new development on this issue.
Love and blessings

The Lightworkers Succeed!
by Patricia Diane Cota-Robles
In spite of all of the gloom and doom soothsayers Humanity proved, once
again, that when we join together in an attitude of cooperation and one
pointed consciousness we can change the course of history. The potential for
serious Y2K problems was real. But instead of just succumbing to that
potential, people all over the World joined together and developed viable
solutions that averted a Global catastrophe.
Instead of allowing our fear-based human egos to focus on the potential
negative results of the Y2K bug, legions of Lightworkers around the Planet
joined forces to co-create an alternative reality. Daily and hourly
Lightworkers invoked the God Presences of every person on the Planet who
could make a positive difference. We asked that the Light of God
Illumination, Truth, Understanding, Wisdom and Enlightenment flow into each
persons conscious mind and feelings, activating within them the knowing
necessary to solve the problems.
The results of Humanity's unified efforts confirm beyond a shadow of a doubt
that THE LIGHT OF GOD IS ALWAYS VICTORIOUS AND WE ARE THAT LIGHT!!!
It is imperative that we grasp the magnitude of that outer world
demonstration. What that means, both literally and tangibly, is that when we
are willing to pool our efforts and our resources for the highest good of all
concerned we can solve the maladies of the World. This is true regardless of
what we are talking about. At this very moment we have all of the technology,
knowledge, skill, wisdom, resources and ability to solve the problems of the
World. That may sound like a monumental task, but I promise you it will just
take a slight adjustment in our consciousness.
The moment we shift from a consciousness of separation to a consciousness of
Oneness we will know and understand that we have no choice but to assist each
other and learn to live together in Peace and Harmony. The Family of Humanity
is totally and completely interdependent, interconnected and interrelated.
What effects one person effects us all. We cannot harm another Human Being or
another part of life without harming ourselves. When that Truth sinks into
our awareness then the concept of war, hatred, prejudice, crime, corruption,
violence, selfishness, greed, poverty, dominance, aggression, abuse of power
and every other destructive human behavior becomes ludicrous,
self-destructive and obviously insane.
(Jean, as Einstein said, 'It is impossible to create Peace while preparing for war.")
HERE IS AN INNOVATIVE APPROACH TO SHIFTING TO A MORE SUSTAINABLE AND FULFILLING WAY OF LIVING
From: Bagelhole1@aol.com
Date: Mon, 10 Jan 2000
Subject: Re: The Millennium Miracle
At the risk of being repetitive, I wish to suggest that a great way to both
build community and develop a palpable sense of community is by sharing
appropriate information over the Internet to help communities build low-tech
infrastructure in neighborhoods (producing quality food to share, water
catchment, solar passive techniques, etc.) right alongside whatever exists,
also at the same time, encouraging alternative building (non-toxic,
efficient, synergistic, self-sustainable), better use of unused/wasted
spaces, and all the other ways to develope sustainability.
Wherein we start these projects wherever we live, to be models for our
neighbors, and to make this our proactive, grassroots focus. Putting as much
low-tech infrastructure up as we can, to increase our self-reliance, while at
the same time being mutually co-operative in sharing info and resources.
Doing it in a new, non-profit motivated, joyful (musical) way. Like skipping
instead of walking, dancing instead of standing in line, putting aside old
fears and self-restraining conditioning, kicking out the jams, and bringing
up the level of free and artistic expression as a way of being our life
affirming natural ego-less selves. Paving the way for inclusiveness and
universal community support.
<< My concept of community (evolving from my earlier learnings with
Scott Peck's Foundation for Community Encouragement and the World Business
Academy) is that community is the sense of togetherness where each individual
feels accepted as their authentic self, and each individual values the
community as a whole. In community, the individuals care for the whole, and
the whole cares for the individual>> - Jan Nickerson
Developing community that designs out violence, by eliminating sovereignty
(other than individual sovereignty), that is inclusive and non-exploitative,
supports its members (humanity), eliminates waste (thru sustainable
techniques, synergism, permaculture), practices full democracy (decentralized
to where representation is eliminated), utilizing the computer if necessary,
by putting the low-tech infrastructure alongside the high-tech (while
eliminating all toxic elements) we can move right into our goals, by
manifesting this focus. Flexibility, openness, and creativity, key to
deconstructing the dysfunctional obstruction, particularly in dealing with
the mass denial phenomenon.
But each of us can be the elements together which would cause a chain
reaction of low-tech sustainable implementation on a global scale (thanks to
internet).
It may be conceived as a bold concept, but we would lose nothing by trying.
All it takes, perhaps, is to believe in the possibility of achieving this on
a global scale within a relatively short time.
The non-commercial website: http://www.bagelhole.org, though somewhat shoddy and
hackneyed in its present condition, due to an endless problem of webdesign
volunteers, could still be a good start in this direction, because it does
contain a lot of low-tech ideas/methods. But it could be made much more
effective.
Y2k has brought this awareness of the need to collaborate as widely as
possible, in bringing together the necessary info, to share through the
internet, to make for the first time in history, such a project/focus
feasible.
I suggest that such a project, though bold, is feasible, and at the very
least, would help make our communities more resilient and our communities
more real, connected, and supportive.
I should hope, that people who disagree, express their concerns, while those
who agree or wish to add also, let it be known.
With All Respect,
Tom O

Hi Jean,
I have really enjoyed your compilations especially the recent ones on the positive benefits of a world wide collaboration re: Y2K prep.
I am starting a a faith based environmental group - doing environmental/social action work which will be supported by prayer and meditation.I am very excited about creating a balance of the head and heart.
I have two questions for you:
1. Do you know of other such groups using this approach we could network with?
2. We are considering using the name Stewards or Stewards of the Earth. What is your reaction to
this name as it relates to "caretaking " of the earth?
(Most of the feedback we have received so far has been positive but a few individuals have been
concerned that it might stir up negative images) Thoughts?
Thank you for all your good spiritual and practical work.

I know your are into the higher consciousness information and I have met someone that is very much into it, too and wants to help change the world. I know you have a lot of Americans on your list and you also have America in your prayers and know how corrupt our political system really is. This
woman is a higher consciousness candidate that will change this, she is not a politician and for that reason I feel so led to send you this about her below that I sent out to several lists.
Patti Jeane
It's time for a change for the new millennium leadership. We need spirituality in the White House and we, the people, can put it there, if we work together. We changed the Y2K by prayer, I believe this, we can change America's politics and restore the constitution to Americans.
I'm asking all lightworkers if they will join forces one time a day at your convenience, preferably before retiring, and for a few moments visualize Heather Anne Harder behind the oval desk as President of the United States of America and a light shining forth from that desk around the world that we, in America, can once more be proud to be Americans.
You don't have to live in this country to help us vision a new America as we restore our Constitution and our Government to a Government of the people, by the people and for the people as it was and is meant to be. This is more than a political advertisement of politicians. This is what America has prayed for and what America needs and I believe we need Heather Anne Harder as our next President but it's up to us, the Lightworkers of the world, to put her there that once more America can be the true Light of the world.
Mission Statement
The Campaign for Citizen Participation has three major goals:
1. To build into our government more honest and healthy mechanisms for citizen participation to reclaim government and reestablish it as being - of the People, by the People, for the People.
2. To create an environment for the exercise of responsible freedom and the practice of self-governance within the confines of the Constitution.
3. To empower and inspire the American people to become the ultimate stabilizing force as the fourth branch of democratic self-government.

The Millennium Peace Buzz # 2
"Peace Trip" a documentary about The Hague Appeal for Peace
by Steve Diamond
c. January 8, 2000
I've just returned from two months in Massachusetts, working with Green
Mountain Post Films on their documentary about the Hague Appeal for Peace, a
film just completed last week called "Peace Trip."
I was originally going to attend the world peace congress last May as a
film crew member, but sudden illness forced me to stay home in Santa
Barbara. I was definitely disappointed at not being able to go, for several
reasons: foremost among them was that I'd heard there would be some 10,000
peace activists converging from all over the world-- and then, too, I love
Holland and the Dutch people. But no luck, I couldn't go, doctors orders.
Well, for me, the next best thing happenedóworking on this film, I was able
to view some twenty hours of the Hague Appeal as recorded by Green Mountain
Post's filmmakers Dan Keller and Charles Light, old friends of mine, as it
happens, and ace documentarians. When they invited me to come to
Massachusetts to help edit the film, I was more than pleased.
As it turned out, several documentaries are being made about the Hague
Appeal for Peace, and they will all become available soon from the
organizers, whose website, http://www.haguepeace.org, you should visit and check
out.
But "Peace Trip," GMP's one hour film, focuses principally on the youth
aspects of the Congress by following Benjamin Quinto, a 21-year-old peace
activist, as he helps moderate and coordinate various youth participant
discussions.
Quinto, who is a dedicated, full-time peace and youth issues organizer from
the One Day Foundation of Sedona, AZ, takes us on a tour of the massive,
sprawling congress, and it is principally through his eyes that we get to
experience the 1999 Hague Appeal For Peace.
In the film, we are treated to many of the presenters at the Hague Appeal
for Peace, including congress president Cora Weiss, a tireless peace
campaigner, whose work and efforts have spanned some forty years at least.
Although the film is about the youth and the overall congress, the role
played by Cora Weiss in miraculously bringing together 10,000 peace
activists under one roof, has been dramatic and should never be
underestimated.
Others in this documentary whose words and thoughts inspire us, are Nobel
Peace Prize winner Jody Williams, Queen Noor of Jordan, and U.N.
Secretary-General Kofi Annan.
Green Mountain Post's documentary introduces us to youth activists from all
over the world as they meet, discuss, and try to hammer out their action
plans for the New Millennium.
Thus, because there were hundreds of small group sessions, in addition to
the larger plenaries, the odds are that even if you were there, you might
not have been aware of the various youth gatherings that were going on
within the larger Hague conference.
Throughout "Peace Trip" we learn just how deep the impact of war is on the
world's children and on the younger generations who always seem to suffer
the most. In addition to the worldwide landmine problems, we learn of the
plight of child combatants, both in Africa and in the Americas, how they are
violently abducted, conscripted, and forced to become killers.
One of the more gripping speakers in this area is Vandy Kanyako Jr., from
Sierra Leone, and a principal organizer of the group "Peacelinks," whose
mission is to help child combatants re-enter civilian life in the war-torn
countries of the African continent.
The Yugoslav War, which was in full horrible throttle while the Hague
Appeal for Peace was taking place in Holland, also serves as an important
backdrop for the film. We are brought directly to the horror of the Kosovo
war by the heart-wrenching recounting of terror by a young refugee Kosovo
woman, Jenessa Budima, and we immediately sense the incredible frustration
of an Allied bombing campaign that may have created more problems than it
resolved, in terms of human misery.
Through these voices, the Green Mountain Post production of "Peace Trip"
lets us in on the fermenting youth movement for peace that has begun to
blossom in these millennial times and which coalesced at the Hague Appeal
for Peace in The Netherlands.
As with their earlier films in the fields of peace, Vietnam and the effects
of agent orange, nuclear power, and other social issues, Green Mountain
Post has created a documentary film which can be used as a great organizing
toolóboth for those who went to the Hague and those who missed it.
You as an individual, or as an organization, can arrange a public showing
of this video documentary in your town to get both a sense of this historic
event that happened in Holland, and to encourage your friends and neighbors
to amplify the call for Peace! around the planet.

AND BEING ON THE SUBJECT OF PEACE, HERE IS THE LONG-UNTOLD AND UNREPORTED STRUGGLE OF THE POPULATION OF AN ISLAND OF PUERTO RICO WHICH CERTAINLY DESERVES TO BE SUPPORTED BY ALL PEACE-MINDED PEOPLE IN THE U.S. AND ABROAD...
Date: Fri, 14 Jan 2000
From: Manuel <betances@isla.net>
Subject: Vieques
Vieques is an island-municipality of Puerto Rico.
Puerto Rico is called a commonwealth of the United States, but it would
be a mistake to assume it has the same political relation with the US
that countries in the British Commonwealth have with GB. The US - PR
relationship is strictly colonial.
The US Navy has conducted a genocidal policy against Puerto Ricans in
Vieques in a long-term attempt to displace the native population, and
retain the island as a training camp. Throughout the years, the US Navy
has succeeded in reducing the native Vieques population from close to
30,000 to less than 10,000, and has forcibly grabbed almost 70% of the
land. Vieques, according to US Navy top brass, constitutes their "jewels
of the crown".
For many years the US Navy has poisoned the Vieques soil and waters with
continuous bombing using all kinds of highly polluting ordinance. The
cancer rate in the shrinking Vieques population is by far the highest in
Puerto Rico. Its policy towards the island-municipality is very
reminiscent of the "indian reservation" policies perpetrated against the
native nations by the armed forces in the United States.
The killing of a Vieques resident by a stray bomb has caused an eruption
of indignation in all of Puerto Rico that has brought to the surface the
decades-long struggles of the Vieques community against the genocidal
pretentions of the US Navy. It has unleashed a strong defiance of the US
Navy which has materialized in a campaign of civil disobedience, with
hundreds of Puerto Ricans moving into the beaches the US Navy uses for
target practice. This action has already caused the Eisenhower battle
group to turn around and perform their exercises elsewhere in
unpopulated areas of the US. This March, the next battle group, the
Washington, will be sailing towards Vieques, and the US Navy is
insisting the US Federal authorities will arrest all Puerto Ricans
occupying the beaches, and will resume its deadly bombardment.
We need all the help we can get from people of good will throughout the
world, and especially in the United States. If your fellow organizations
are interested in putting their moral and material support behind this
uneven struggle between a peaceful people fighting for their most basic
human rights, for land, justice and peace, please contact me at this
address. I will supply you with as much information as you need, and an
extensive list of religious, civic and political organizations which are
in the forefront of this struggle.
Thank you.
