I did not have much time this week to compile many emails both because of intensive work in the garden and because of the ongoing Focus Group discussions. I hope you all appreciate this service and that many of you participate to each Sunday global Meditation Focus (noon East Coast time, 5 pm in the UK, 6 pm in Europe, for 30 minutes) - which was quite powerful last Sunday! - and every day for a few minutes at the top of any hour. The more we can all assist in disseminating the material prepared each week, the more we can have a significant positive impact on what is going on in the world. (See a comment just received on this below...)
This is a tool for global healing and peace-fostering which needs to be used by the largest possible number of people to reach its peak efficiency. The Internet allows us today such an ongoing and unprecedented level of global coordination. But its interconnecting power is minute compared to the awesome *innerconnecting* power of synchronized meditators around the world all focussed on the Highest Good of All -- Peace, Love and Harmony Within Every Living Being on Earth...
All my best to all of you

Firstly I think it's a great idea, I printed out the introduction and further info about the meditations from the website (at http://refcities.com/focusgroup) and took it along to the full moon group I help facilitate, everyone was very enthusiastic; I've also emailed details and the web address to about a dozen people and have had a good response, my friend Suzanne has emailed it on to all her friends in Ireland and is talking about have a weekly group meditation. I'm going to
make up some sort of leaflet to send out when I do my next full moon mailout to all my London contacts (about 150 people) and I'll put on there to contact myself or Leigh for the weekly focus if they don't have access to the web.
Thank you again for your inspiration and vision
With much love and joy

Subject: Re: The Future of Economy
I have been reading your messages with great interest over the past many
months, here in Wales UK we find direct news from USA an amazing window
that we peep through!
Today I read all the money and interest statistics you have assembled,
which of course we also have problems with!
I live in the Black Mountains in the south of this Paradise called Powys
in Wales , and am the eldest of a large extended family, yes that means
I am old!!!!
We have been working on this so called money shortage for a very long
time, say centuries!
So we have gone around in cycles, where we keep returning to swopping
things we need, the most recent variety is called LETS , !
We have discovered something called the Eternal Spring in our LETS group.
When someone wants to run an event, repair a barn, run a workshop or
any thing which can benefit the community in any way, they can apply for
a grant of Beacons (the name of the local lets currency } to help them
to pay for the extra labour the will need to carry it out.
There are 100 women members of our group and 30 men at present,
so you will gather that the help all women need can be found somewhere
in this group.
I look on them as an extension of my extended family, people who have
come in as strangers find a ready made community, and if they work at it
can solve a lot of their problems.
We are now working on an all Wales attempt to bring in a new local
currency for the whole of Wales!so we can balance up the euro when it
Many Banks are closing in our rural areas so we are also working at the
Comunity bank level, to try to replace them with Credit Unions , and
ethical loans, etc
Watch this space!
I find your work very inspiring, and look forward to more of your
messagesin my inbox!
In Wales we say "see you" or "pob hwyl" in the
old Welsh language, we always hope to see you again!
Love and blesings on your work,

Now that you've added your "PS" I'm sure you'll be flooded with responses.
It seems time itself is passing so much faster these days and fitting things
in on a daily basis is always a challenge until a gentle push is given. One
of my favorite quotes reads: "God put me on earth to accomplish a certain
number of things -- Right now, I'm so far behind, I will never die!"
For myself, the 5 day window (critical mass 5/3-5/7) of this great shift
didn't present anything out of the ordinary, but I do feel a gradual
awakening, if you will, as these days of alignment pass. The path my
journey has taken at this juncture of life has been very spiritual and
meditation is something I'm attempting to make routine. This is where I
have noticed a noticeable change in the intensity of feeling our universal
energy and even an ease at attaining this connection with One. I am also
enjoying the NOW -- living and being in the moment -- so much more than
before and with much more awareness of life around me. To put it in a
nutshell -- I feel loved, connected, secure, optimistic, enthusiastic,
energetic, healthier, and at peace so much more than I ever have, and it
feels good, it feels right and it feels real. While there is much to be
done on this earthly plane to awaken all and unite in oneness, I am blessed
and delighted to be experiencing the knowledge of I AM with the help of this
great Light Shift. I will be curious to read about your responses from
others who must be experiencing the same.
Jean, your labor of love through your efforts on this site is greatly
appreciated. I look forward to seeing your incoming mail each day and will
often share many of the articles with friends and colleagues -- a wonderful
wealth of knowledge and communication. Keep up the great work!

A Call for Congressional Oversight Hearings into Navy's Active Sonar Activities
At a press conference held May 10 at the National Press Club Joel Reynolds of
the Natural Resources Defense Council and several other environmental groups
called for Congressional oversight hearings into the US Navy's activities
involving active sonar devices. Additionally, they asked for the Navy to
delay acoustic testing scheduled May 22 off the New Jersey coast due to the
recent Bahamas strandings. The National Marine Fisheries Service has already
asked the Navy to delay these tests.
Ken Balcomb, Center for Whale Research presented film footage of necropsies
done on two of 16 cetaceans that stranded on March 15, 2000. Both showed
evidence of pressure trauma, but the specifics of the damage are yet to be
determined. B-roll footage of the Bahamas strandings is available from Mr.
Balcomb. Phone 360-378-5835, email firstname.lastname@example.org
Dr. Charles Bernard, military expert, U.S. Navy (retired) discussed the
inadequacies of LFAS as a strategic weapon system.
Dr. Marsha Green, Ocean Mammal Institute discussed the scientific aspects of
LFAS. She noted:
· The Navy's Draft Environmental Impact Statement on Low Frequency Active
Sonar (LFAS) is scientifically flawed. It ignores very relevant data such as
the mass stranding of beaked whales in Greece following NATO's LFAS tests
· Widely accepted research shows whales avoid loud sounds at about 115-120
dB. With no scientific basis the Navy is attempting to redefine this level
to 160 dB.
· The Navy conducted their LFAS tests at levels about 5,000 times less
intensity and 70 times less pressure than their planned deployment levels and
with no scientific evidence extrapolated that the technology is safe at much
Dr. Naomi Rose, Humane Society of the United States discussed the fact that
the Navy's LFAS tests were conducted on only four species of cetaceans for
one month each. Consequently, nothing is known about the impact of LFAS on
long term reproductive rates of endangered species, or its impact on fish and
other food sources.
February 29, 2000 - 10 national organizations and an elected official filed
suit in a Honolulu federal court to halt the US Navy's preparations to deploy
LFAS. The suit alleges:
1. The Navy is violating environmental laws by spending millions of tax
dollars on the sonar system before completing the analysis of the system's
2. The Navy is conducting a biased environmental study designed to justify
the expenditures already made, rather than objectively evaluating the
potential for harm to marine life.
A letter signed by 31+ scientific and environmental organizations is on its
way to Congress. These organizations are calling for:
· Congress to convene an oversight hearing to investigate the environmental
hazards of active sonar devices in use or planned for future use by the US
· Urging an immediate stop of all development, testing and deployment of the
Navy's proposed LFAS system until such time as Congress determines that it is
necessary and can be used safely in the ocean environment.
· Urging cancellation of active sonar tests -- the LWAD 00-2 Sea Test
--planned by the Navy for later this month off the coast of New Jersey and
New York until a full and transparent investigation of the recent mass
mortality of marine mammals in the Bahamas has been completed and reviewed by
Congress through an oversight hearing.

I have been receiving factual accounts from people worldwide who have had experiences of "a guardian angel" that came to them in times of great need, something which could not be rationally explained away. Sometimes just a "feeling" others a strong presence, sometimes even saving their life. I am documenting some these cases (with the authors permission) to include in a book I am writing in regards to my own personal experiences.
Some of the experiences I have been sent dating back to the second world war from pilots and service personal are truly remarkable.
If any of your readers has had personal experiences, or knows of someone that has, and is willing to share them, and have them included with my own in a book please forward this email on to them. Their names of course will be kept in confidence if they so wish.

I sent recently this excellent "127 British Scientists sign open letter for GM food withdrawal" letter below to my worldwide mass media e-list (962 media email addresses) along with 3 other articles (Convention exposes rift over genetically altered foods + BIOTECH IN TROUBLE + Silicon to Soybeans'-- Monsanto's toxic legacy) and this intro comment over the last weedkend:
"If you are interested to uncover the truth about genetically engineered plants and food, you'll find much of it below...
It is time to tell the truth to the public about these insanely dangerous food products people are forced to eat without any label warning about their long-term health consequences and immediate multi-allergic reactions."

"Physicians and Scientists for Responsible Application of Science and Technology" (PSRAST)
ARGUMENTS FOR GE FOOD WITHDRAWAL
Now 127 scientists (predominantly) and physicians have signed our Open Letter demanding a withdrawal of GE foods (http://www.psrast.org/psrlet.htm).
Thank you all who have contributed to this success! Please help us to convince more to sign! Here are some brief arguments you can show those who hesitate.
TO YOU WHO HESITATE TO SIGN
Below a number of objections and brief counterarguments with links to more.
OBJECTION 1: I am not a specialist on this field. I don't feel competent to sign.
1. The issue is very simple and does not require any specialist competence to understand. It takes only a few minutes of study of the facts to realize why withdrawal is necessary.
a) It is very obvious that "substantial equivalence" is an invalid unscientific safety criterion (actually being a judical invention to facilitate rapid GE food approval), see http://www.psrast.org/subeqow.htm ("Substantial equivalence versus scientific food safety assessment").
b) It is a scientifically established fact that artificial insertion of genes may cause completely unexpected metabolic disturbances that may result in harmful substances, see http://www.psrast.org/defknfood.htm ("Is there enough knowledge about effects of GE foods to make it possible to estimate their safety?"). Recently unearthed secret documents show that this has been recognized even by FDA and EU experts, see http://www.psrast.org/ctsafety.htm inadfunct"
c) It is a fact, recognized by all experts, that it is much more difficult to assess the safety of food than to assess drug safety. Over 10% of drugs that "pass" billion dollar safety assessment programs still turn out to have serious side-effects, see http://www.psrast.org/molbreli.htm ("No safety assessment methods are fully reliable"). Only very careful long term studies can detect harmful substances in GE foods. - The very superficial testing, accepted in the case of substantial equivalence is completely unreliable. Yet, all GE foods on the market have been approved on the basis of such testing.
"Potentially disastrous effects may come from undetected harmful substances in Genetically Modified Foods." (Dr Andrew Chesson, vice chairman of European Commission scientific committee on animal nutrition and formerly an ardent advocate of food biotechnology. Daily Mail , UK, 13 Sept 1999).
2. This open letter is meant to be a demonstration by qualified professionals with academic background. Biotech advocates and PR firms have worked hard to make governements believe that GMO resistance is only an expression of consumer ignorance and irrational fears for new technologies. Our letter disqualifies this key argument and points to scientific reasons for withdrawal.
3. Very few specialists dare to sign because a large part of the research related to the issue is sponsored by the biotech industry. To backup them, we need the participation of a large number of qualified professionals with academic background.
OBJECTION 2. I am confused. - Some leading scientists say that it has not been proven that GE foods are harmful.
This is a dishonest, seriously misleading and irrelevant argument. What is relevant is that it has not been proven that GE foods are harmless. For example DDT caused extensive damage worldwide because it was released although is was not proven that it was harmless. Leading scientists are the prime cooperation targets for biotech companies, and cannot be trusted uncritically in this issue. Go by the facts, not by "authorities", see also http://www.psrast.org/crisisofsci.htm ("Dysfunctional science - Towards a "pseudoscientific world order?").
OBJECTION 3: But these foods may contribute to save millions of people from hunger.
This is not true. Even biotech advocates now admit that none of the present GE foods are of any significant value to mankind. The biotech propaganda has created confusion in using potential usefulness of *future* GE foods as arguments for approving *present* useless foods, see http://www.psrast.org/geprodct.htm ("The GE-foods developed so far are of no significant value for mankind). It is an unproven hypothesis that future GE foods may reduce world hunger.
OBJECTION 4: But the advocates say GE crops are more friendly to the environment, requiring less use of herbicides and pesticides.
This has been a major selling argument, which in practice has not turned out to be true according to recent studies. See for example
a) the recent report of World Wildlife Fund, http://www.wwfcanada.org/news-room/"("WWF Report: GE & Pesticides").
b) http://www.psrast.org/rrsoyfailure.htm ("Genetically Engineered Roundup Ready Soy crops less profitable than conventionally bred varieties"). - Over 8000 university-based field studies finds lower yields and increased use of herbicide compared to conventionally bred soy.
BUT MOST IMPORTANT: Even if the GE crops were more friendly to the environment, this would not justify the exposition of millions of people to unknown health hazards from eating them.
OBJECTION 5: "I agree with all this but I think withdrawal is not realistic."
Our role is to inform governments what is the only logical and responsible decision to make on the basis of scientific facts. The feasibility of withdrawal is completely irrelevant in this context. It would give the governments completely misleading signals if we demanded anything less. Our letter provides important support to increasing worldwide consumer demands for withdrawal. Already, the GE-advocating governments have been forced to change their policy considerably.

AND I RECEIVED SOME MORE COMMENTS (THANKS!) ON THE MAY 5 ALIGNMENT

Subject: comments on alignment + Focus Group

Regarding the alignment: it is a very intense period indeed. It started
before already with a lot of release. During the whole period, the main
impact I observe in and around me is
1. better grounding and inner coherence, "no-nonsense" attitude,
clarity in thought and vision with readiness for healthy action
2. the alignment teaches to discriminate AND share: people whom there is no
sense to be involved with too intensely right now disappear by themselves,
as well as commitments resulting from ego-compromises; things become
so obvious and clear that neither doubt nor fear can prevent radical action.
At the same time, beautiful people appear, young ones with such
magnificent strong, radiant, souls - whole soul-families are reunited!
It is truly amazing. The vibration seems to anchor into matter at an
incredible speed. Within a few days I heard of a mayor of a small village
who owns a lot of land and feels the urge to make it available for a
spiritual healing and arts center for free, and of a private person
who readily provides the whole infrastructure for a space dedicated to a
beautiful programme of African renaissance, also for free. The energy
liberated during the last eclipse had to do with asking for forgiveness
(Jewish and African (slave-trade) holocausts, etc.), and now, with the
alignment in Taurus, it is time for reparation, for sharing wealth, etc.
worldwide, community-wide and within ourselves (I was asked by some of my
students/patients to run a special workshop on guilt and to redo an
old one on Chiron the wounded healer, both of which I had not
intended to do at this time!). For those who are giving a lot, unexpected
money, gifts, etc. have been pouring in (the sun/jupiter conjunction was
incredibly strong!), as well as opportunities. As far as I'm
concerned, almost every day since the alignment the Universe has been giving
me something very special.
Fire was very present (in dreams and otherwise).
It's like the first very promising signs of something really happening
in global awareness and material dimension almost instantly, and it
is bound to grow more and more!
On the 4th of May I lead a ceremony on top of a mountain near Geneva which
has very powerful vibes. Working people tuned in from wherever they were.
I feel blessed to be around here and now, participating and this amazing
I am thrilled to be an actor and a witness.
I am so grateful for being given this sense of belonging to the Universe.
I feel honoured to be given the opportunity of travelling along with it.
God bless you, thank you for bringing us all together and allowing us to
create this powerful circle where we can meet our responsibility, with joy
You know, just a couple of days before discovering the Focus Group, I
thought of asking you to launch a meditation for Southern Africa.
1. Zimbabwe - let's create a highway for peace to come back so
that prosperity may also be there, for all.
2. South Africa - we are at a crucial moment, people are becoming
restless, crime is on the rise still. We need patience, wisdom and true
healing, i.e. a situation without profit-driven compromises, but incentives
for all that contributes to the well-being, the dignity and the respect of

Howdy! Thanx for your info flow--I'd just like you to know that the reason the
drug corporations dropped the price of the aids cocktail drugs was because
President Clinton signed an order releasing the African countries from patent
restrictions allowing them to make the medicines themselves at 85% less than they
were paying which is why these corporations who for years now have been saying they
couldn't charge any less all of a sudden found they could drop the prices 85% just
to keep selling them--this certainly was the result of a lot of spiritually
directed energy and the heavy handed agitating by act up! and other aids activist
organizations. Just thought you'd like to know.....

President Clinton went on the attack against Texas Gov. George W. Bush (R) yesterday, accusing him of being wrong-headed on the environment and other issues. During an interview on National Public Radio, Clinton said that if Bush wins, "he will do what he did in Texas -- he will let the people who basically are the primary polluters control environmental policy." In contrast, Clinton said that Al Gore would "try to grow the economy and keep cleaning up the environment." A Bush advisor defended the governor's enviro record in a controversial op-ed in the New York Times this week. A recent Los Angeles Times poll found Bush ahead of Gore, 51 percent to 43 percent.

Nearly a quarter of the world's primate species are endangered by human activities, according to the World Conservation Union. The group -- which is composed of 10,000 scientists, several hundred of whom are meeting in the U.S. this week to discuss the problem -- says 50 of 600 primate species are critically endangered, while 88 others are threatened to a lesser degree. For example, bonobos, which live only in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, are caught in the middle of a war that is splitting their habitat in half and driving some hungry refugees to kill them for meat, says Gay Reinartz of the Milwaukee Zoological Society.

Brazil is in the process of deciding whether to allow the planting of
genetically modified (GM) crops, and many observers believe that its
decision could play a big role in determining the future of GM technology
worldwide. The U.S., Brazil, and Argentina together grow 80 percent of the
world's soybeans, a crop used in countless food products. If Brazil joins
the U.S. and Argentina in enthusiastically embracing GM soybeans, it could
become very difficult for consumers to avoid GM material in foods. It's
widely believed that a portion of Brazil's soybean crop may already be
modified, thanks to seeds smuggled in from Argentina. Meanwhile,
pharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca announced yesterday that within three years
it will begin selling a GM strain of rice fortified with beta carotene that
converts to vitamin A, and the company plans to give the rice away in the
world's poorest countries. Biotechnology critics appreciate the noble idea,
but say that GM crops have not been adequately tested and may pose risks to
people and the environment.

REINVENTING THE WHEELS
After more than a century of causing horrendous pollution, the auto industry is undergoing a green revolution, writes Jim Motavalli in Grist. Spurred by air pollution laws, the specter of global warming, and animated competition, automakers are starting to design and produce a whole new generation of clean cars, including fuel-cell and hybrid gas-electric vehicles. Enviros and others lament that even eco-friendly cars exacerbate sprawl and congestion, and yet cars aren't likely to disappear anytime soon, so the least we can do is clean them up, Motavalli argues. Meanwhile, Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) hopes to give clean cars a boost with a bill he introduced yesterday that would give tax breaks to individuals and companies that buy alternative-fuel vehicles and to companies that build refueling stations for such vehicles.

Tempers are flaring in Europe this week as hundreds of farmers in England, France, Germany, and Sweden have found out that they unwittingly planted genetically modified (GM) rapeseed oil crops, after a seed company accidentally included a small amount of GM seeds in bags sold to the farmers over the past two years. Many Europeans are adamantly opposed to GM foods; hence, the uproar. Enviro groups say the mistake shows the need for a complete ban on GM plants, and they are calling for the contaminated fields to be destroyed and restitution paid by the seed company, Advanta. The British government is being accused of a cover-up because the agriculture minister knew about the seed mix-up a month ago but didn't make the information public. On Wednesday, Prince Charles spoke out against GM technology in a BBC Radio address.

What is important?
The following is something to make us stop and think.
Take this quiz:
1. Name the five wealthiest people in the world
2. Name the last five Heisman trophy winners.
3. Name the last five winners of the Miss America contest.
4. Name ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer prize.
5. Name the last half dozen Academy Award winners for best actor and actress.
6. Name the last decade's worth of World Series winners.
How did you do?
The point is, none of us remember the headliners of yesterday. These are no
second-rate achievers. They are the best in their fields. But the applause
dies. Awards tarnish. Achievements are forgotten. Accolades and
certificates are buried with their owners.
Here's another quiz. See how you do on this one:
1. List a few teachers who aided your journey through school.
2. Name three friends who have helped you through a difficult time.
3. Name five people who have taught you something worthwhile.
4. Think of a few people who have made you feel appreciated and special.
5. Think of five people you enjoy spending time with.
6. Name half a dozen heroes whose stories have inspired you.
Easier? The lesson?
The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the most
credentials, the most money, or the most awards. They are the ones that care.
